NEW YORK, N.Y.., January 31, 2017 —ScholarChip®, the largest provider of smart ID cards for K-12 schools, announces that its newest client, School Lane Charter School in Bensalem, Bucks County, PA, has purchased ScholarChip’s ID Manager for Building Attendance and Secure Door Access services for its high school students.
In 1998, a dedicated group of parents successfully petitioned the state and Bensalem Township School District, making School Lane Charter School the first charter school in Bucks County and the first suburban K-8 charter school in Pennsylvania. Its mission is to create a sanctuary where all members of the learning community are partners and show by example their commitment to high achievement, lifelong and active learning, diversity and equity, and collaborative problem solving. ScholarChip’s services will support these goals.
Automating attendance at School Lane Charter begins with ScholarChip’s ID Manager, used to photograph and print customized smart ID cards. Kiosks are placed at the school’s entrance; students tap in and they are counted as present in the building. Aside from school arrival and departure times, students can access the building using their ID cards at secure door locations. These standalone kiosks will also be used for large group attendance activities like dances or sports events.
Smart ID card-based automation allows administrators to keep schools more secure; they can monitor school attendance in real time, which can be vital in the case of emergency. ScholarChip’s reports also support data-driven operation decisions, which increase efficiency and security.
ScholarChip is the largest provider of smart ID cards used for attendance, payment processing, visitor management, secure door access, and behavior management services in K12. It was first to market in centralizing and integrating School Safety and Operations System with a true one card solution, which operates seamlessly with popular Student Information Systems and NFC mobile devices. ScholarChip’s Higher Education services include Tuition Payment Plans, Loan Servicing, Student Retention Services, and a compliant Payment Gateway.
