ScholarChip Acquires ABE Systems, Keeps Staff, Plans Major Expansion of Platform

Company Will Integrate Functional Behavioral Assessment into its Smart Card ID and Automated Attendance Solutions

New York, N.Y., November 19, 2014 – ScholarChip, the creator of the One Card ID System for
K-12 schools providing centralized attendance, safety and operations, has acquired ABE Systems from McKenzie Taylor Company, a leading provider of web-based student intervention software.

All ABE System features will be maintained, enhanced, and integrated with ScholarChip’s system; assessment data will be ported to ScholarChip’s highly secure data centers to further protect student privacy. ABE’s software development, which had been located offshore, will now be enhanced by US-based development. ScholarChip will maintain ABE Systems’ headquarters office in Georgia as a satellite location; Mike Condor, ABE founder, and all ABE employees will be retained by ScholarChip.

“This acquisition is an important step in our history,” said Maged Atiya, PhD, ScholarChip CTO. “It expands our ID-card attendance products into behavioral management and incorporates the two in an easy-to-use system.”

The range of ABE’s software will widen significantly by integrating into to ScholarChip’s comprehensive card-based attendance services and adding real time truancy, tardy, and class cut data to its discipline and behavioral management products. Intervention processes and documentation will be richer and less time consuming. In addition, ScholarChip’s Smart Form service, an application that automatically populates web forms with the tap of a smart ID-card, reduces data entry tasks. This new tool for systematic behavioral management will result in fewer suspensions and discipline events.

Products and services are currently available through both companies; ScholarChip and ABE Systems will streamline its sales, marketing, and administrative processes during the next quarter.
