Charles County Public Schools Joins ScholarChip’s Growing Client Roster

NEW YORK, N.Y.., March 14, 2017 —ScholarChip®, the largest provider of smart ID cards for K-12 schools, announces its newest client, Charles County Public Schools in Maryland, which has purchased Visitor Management services for its 40 schools.

The mission of Charles County Public Schools is to provide an opportunity for all school-aged children to receive an academically challenging, quality education that builds character, equips for leadership, and prepares for life, in an environment that is safe and conducive to learning.

Creating a safe environment for learning is paramount for any school district, and one of the most vital aspects of safety is knowing who is in your school at any given time. With this new program, when visitors come to the schools, their drivers’ licenses will be scanned, the national database for sex offenders will be searched, and if the person is approved, they will be issued a nametag for entry to the school.

By implementing this program, Charles County will verify identity and gather information on its daily visitors: vendors, volunteers, and those who are picking students up, which keeps its students more safe and its schools more secure.
